✿ Week 14 - Anime_Mateo ✿

Image
Good day to you guys~ It's me again and I am terribly sorry for being a but late, I was running out of ideas. Plus, coloring these the way I do, it was time consuming indeed. So anyway, this week it's all about A N I M E! And me, I am a huge anime fan, I've watched it since I was a kid and it was part of my childhood and helped shaped me to be who I am today. Anime has a big impact to me and influenced both me and my art works. All though I haven't drawn anything anime related recently, this was a really fun activity since it was nostalgic and quite a trip from the past.     Without any further drama, let me show you my works for this week. It contains both anime and cartoon drawings for our subject, Drawing lecture and laboratory.          This is an original character, who I haven't named yet, but let's just name her Sei. Her style was inspired from Kakegurui's Jabami Yumeko, an iconic gambling queen, as her personality is literally amazing. Her un

✿ Week 14 - Quaranthings Poster_Mateo ✿

Image
Hello once again! For this week's Introduction to MMA subject's blog entry, it's a requirement poster for the contest, "Quaranthings" for our school. It has a generalized topic, which is quite broad for me so I actually had a tough time thinking of what to draw. This is also why I was a bit late in passing this week's blog but that's okay since in the end, I was able to improve anyways.     At first, I wanted to draw it digitally, but I realized it's gonna be harder on me since lately, I've been having back pain, and leaning on to my graphic tablet isn't gonna help me. Another reason was because Digitally making a poster with a lot of content is going to take a long time, so I changed my mind and did it Traditionally. This gives me more control, and I can still use my favorite Traditional media, the Prisma color premier colored pencils! Let me show you guys my progress~     Here is the digitalized version, where I first wanted to do my po

✿ Week 13 - PrinciplesMultimediaDesign by Mateo ✿

A pleasant day to everyone! It's me again, Nina, and here is our activity for this week under Introduction to MMA. It is a graphic design so I had the idea to make an Infographic about our course, Multimedia Arts. The goal was to try and encourage others to enroll under MMA.     An extra thing we have to keep in mind while making this was to make sure that we include the principles of multimedia design, hence the title. I decided to make this Infographic with the idea of the following principles:                      Less is More - I made sure to use only a few variables and imitate a digital drawing application. I made sure that the words are also concise to save space and not have it too crowded. Doing so will result in the Infographic to look more like a collage.                         Coherence Principle - To ensure the Infographic being concise, I removed unnecessary things that might drive the target reader or viewer from the real point of my work. I ensured that all the

✿ Week 13 - Cartoon_Mateo ✿

Image
Hello everyone! Our midterms have finally finished~ I feel really happy and energized because I was one of the students that my teacher recognized! I also saw a lot of amazing artworks from my classmates and it both inspired me and made me want to work twice as hard!     For the first week in our finals, we were tasked to draw a cartoon character for our Drawing lec/lab subject. In this case, I have drawn a female human character, that I have nicknamed "Pop", derived from her real name, Paprika.      Here, is the first few sketches of how I originally wanted her to look. On the top left is her original design with the art style I wanted her to have. Below that is how I wanted her eye to look and gave her her signature three eyelashes, applying a variety of line sizes. Next to her original design, is her different expressions. I wanted to do that to show off her personality, which I wanted to portray as "bubbly", "nice", and "fun". Under tha

✿ Week 11 - Perspective Drawings ✿

Image
Hello guys! Another day of me posting about our drawings for our Drawing lec/lab subject! This is the last one for now because our midterms are coming up soon. Anyways, for this week's drawing, it's all about P E R S P E C T I V E !      Like always, I've drawn a variety of samples to get myself immersed in the topic of this week. I also experimented using different kinds of medium while doing different kinds of perspective drawings. Below is my first attempt of drawing perspectives for this week, and as usual, I decided to color it to make it appear more lively. I used Dong-A Oil Pastels on Vellum board, and it has been a while since I have touched my Oil Pastels. It was messy drawing with it but in the end, it was fun and the colors are very vibrant, as you can see. I also tried the scraping technique where you get an object to scratch out some details, this works well if you lay out a light color over the canvas and put a darker color over it. You can see this tech

✿ Week 10 - Gesture Drawings ✿

Image
Good day to you guys! Here are my drawings for different Gesture Drawings, following the lessons I've learned from this week's class under Drawing lecture and laboratory. I saw that we had to do Gesture drawings, so I decided to do 10 non-detailed ones, both male and female, and 10 more gesture drawings but with detail.      I definitely enjoyed this because I learned to be flexible and be more comfortable with drawing postures that I never would have practiced beforehand. I also learned to observe people's poses more and the details I see when I draw, though I learned that way earlier already, sometimes I don't grasp the information I have enough and nor do I attempt to fix them so it can be more accurate. Fixing mistakes is always good, but here in this activity, I had the option to fix them or leave them there due to the instructions of Gesture Drawing - it's okay to be messy .     In the end, I was able to adjust. I did a few drawings with detail that had been

✿ Week 10 - MMA - Multimedia Element - VIDEO (Tutorial) ✿

Image
Hello everyone! It's me, Nina, here again to show you guys my new post for this week's activity in MMA. This week it's the Multimedia element of VIDEO, specifically, a tutorial.      It was quite fun to film this for it's my first time but I also had a hard time since I didn't know how to film using a screen recorder, plus I had to record my voice separately because my microphone had issues so my voice can't be understood. But because of this, I was able to expand my knowledge again! Here's the video now, please enjoy watching!     I used the VEIKK A50 Graphics Tablet that I bought from Shopee from their official store.       Here's the link to that in Lazada:  https://www.lazada.com.ph/products/veikk-official-store-veikk-a50-graphics-drawing-tablet-full-panel-digital-drawing-pad10-x-6-inch-large-work-area-with-8192-pressure-sensitivity-battery-free-passive-pen-and-1-artist-glove-i315002815-s641732957.html?spm=a2o4l.searchlist.list.10.7c987099dARJv3

✿ Week 9 - MMA Multimedia Elements - GRAPHICS ✿

Image
Hello once again guys!       For this week, We were assigned to do a graphic design for any advocacy we wish. Obviously, since I am in the MMA course, I chose to do a graphic design that will help promote my course to other people, who would often wonder what MMA is for, what we do, or what its worth.            I reused an old drawing of mine and recolored it then added a few more designs and texts to make it seem more like a poster for an ad campaign of Multimedia arts. I used the application Paint Tool SAI version 2 to create this poster and voila~ It is done.     Next time any of you guys want to know more about MMA, feel free to approach me and my friends and classmates, as well as the teachers, to inquire about it. Don't be afraid to follow your dreams! Have a good day!

✿ Week 9 - Human Figure Anatomy ✿

Image
Hey guys! For our recent assignment, we were assigned to do some human anatomy studies so I went and draw a variety of drawings to practice more of the assignment.     In this first picture, I drew hands in different poses, one of which on the left side, is a big hand with a vision of the bones inside the hands. This was the most fun part of the assignment and was also the most enjoyment I had in it too. I really dislike drawing hands before but more recently, it expanded my knowledge about how to draw them more efficiently and less stiff.     The next drawing is the anatomy of females, where I used the reference in our teacher's Powerpoint presentation. Females anatomy basic measurement are about 7 and a half heads, so I measured the female using a ruler and a regular pencil first before drawing her entire body.     In the following drawing, are a few more half body poses of female anatomy that I practiced. One is standing normally, one with a twisted arms up pose, another s

✿ Week 8 - Sketching a realistic portrait ✿

Image
For t his week's artwork, it is a realistic portrait of a person. In my work, I used a reference with the medium of Prismacolor premier pencils for the coloring and black acrylic paint for the simple background on a smooth Vellum board.  It was a fun activity to do for a change of style and a change of pace as there are no classes.      Here are different angles of the drawing under simple lighting to try to show off the details. Overall, I'm quite proud of this piece and had fun doing the coloring process and exercise the lessons I learned from the previous meetings.       Here are also a few more practices of portraits of my special person :> I used Koi watercolors and unipin pens (sized 0.1 and 0.05) here on my other sketchbook and practiced lighting. It was a blast to do since it was more of me, experimenting my coloring and my techniques on a medium that I haven't fully mastered so that was fun too! Plus, it was my special person after all :> The last work wa

✿ MMA week 8 - Exercise inserting Sound to Presentation ✿

Hello, my dearest viewers! It's me, Nina, again! I've posted this video here before, but it was under a different subject. I'm submitting it to another subject, which is Multimedia Arts!      I am actually quite fond of this animation, or creating ones in general. Though this kind of animation is quite basic in comparison to other animations, but since I am still learning, I'm really proud of myself for even staying motivated and satisfied as I continue to learn. I hope to learn and know more about animation soon! Anyways, enjoy(again)~

✿ Week 7 - 7 elements, 7 principles, and principles of design and ink value techniques ✿

Image
Good day, guys! Recently, we've been given a cool assignment where in we are expected to draw something that represents or shows the seven(7) elements, seven principles, and principles of design and ink value techniques! First of all, what are the 7 elements? Those are known as: 1. Lines  2. Shape 3. Color 4. Value 5. Form 6. Texture 7. Space For the 7 principles, they are: 1. Balance 2. Contrast 3. Emphasis 4. Movement 5. Pattern 6. Rhythm 7. Unity      I tried to include as many elements and principles as I can in my artworks, so without further ado, here are my artworks that represent both the seven elements and the seven principles: "My soul is as colorful as me"       In my first artwork that I've entitled  "My soul is as colorful as me", You can see the presence of the element of Lines, Shape, Color, Value, and Texture. There are a variety of lines that portray my piece, most obviously, her face. With a good combination of Shape, Color, Value, and
