✿ History of Graphic Design: Activity 9 - Pictorial Modernism/Cubism Poster ✿

Image
H E L L O!     For the last week of midterms for activities, we were assigned to do Modern Cubism. We could do a poster that shows off nationalism or anything that is related to being a proud Filipino. Here is my entry for this week. As usual, all I used is my computer, my VEIKK A50 graphics tablet and Paint Tool SAI version 2.      Earlier, I got disconnected for a few minutes so I almost didn't get the topic. However, with enough knowledge, I have decided to apply all the knowledge I gained. I actually did two posters but the first one did not feel as if it was conveying nationalism so I scrapped it and redid the poster. Here is a modern Filipina in her modern Filipiñana that is associated with the Filipino flag. To show off uniqueness, I also made her makeup similar to the color of the flags. This symbolizes Filipinos shown through color.       Blue for peaceful, kind, clean, and calmness. Red is for bravery, fierceness, protection, and strength. Yellow for happiness, simplici

✿ Exercise 7 - Portfolio Cover Graphic Design ✿

Image
H E L L O!       For the next project of the 7th week, we were now tasked to do an portfolio cover graphic design . I did my own face to show that I am the creator and that this is my cover for my portfolio. I just thought of this after reading some manga in my free time.     My theme is "manga" or "comics" which is quite unique in my opinion. I think this is something fitting for a book or a website for comics. It definitely catches attention and also pretty cool and pleasing to the eye.   Now, let's talk about the principles I used within Typography.   H IERARCHY  - Notice how I make the main text bigger and in the center. This is also under my drawn picture to show that this is me, and under that is what I want my position to be known as. When a person sees what I do and the overall design, it is already given what this design is about. It's about show casing what I can do, and this is just the surface. Around that, I included different drawings and angle

✿ Exercise 6 - Event Poster Design ✿

Image
H E L L O!      In this 6th week of our subject, which is the first week of Midterms in elements of graphics and design, we were now tasked to do an event poster design . I did my own birthday for the event, imagining a debut type party but make it for a twenty year old lady. I found an inspiration in creating this online.     I made two designs, using an editing online application only. I also used my own recent pictures because it looks like an actual debut photoshoot, let's check it out! and hey! You're invited! Landscape: Portrait: Here are information about the principles of T ypography I applied.   H IERARCHY   The biggest and most important part is the 'Let's Party!' text, this is so the audience knows what the poster is about. This is also to catch the attention of my viewers. To summarize the information, I used minimalist font to balance out the fancy font used for my name and the leading text.      SIZE   The biggest font in size is the LET'S PARTY t

✿ History of Graphic Design: Activity 7 - Arts and Crafts ✿

H E L L O! F or the first week of midterms, we were assigned to do Arts and Crafts.  We could do jewelry, clothing, wallpaper, carpet and more. Here are my entries for this week. It was a sudden switch from Digital art to Traditional art again, so this time it was traditional medium.  I did two things, one where I used clay-like substance (i don't know what it's actually called) and a cardboard where it already had a drawing. The other one is a recycled artwork made from old CDs (that aren't used or played anymore) and mixed media, namely acrylic, gouache, and poster paint. Here are the artworks: Day, Sunset, and Night, hanged on our wall. Day Sunset Night      I was running out of colors here and I had to do this with two toothpicks to press it on to the surface. To be honest, I just found this set lying in my parent's room and decided to do it for the Arts and Crafts project.      Here is the next artwork, the recycled CDs. I made one for Day, Sunset, and Night. This

✿ History of Graphic Design: Activity 6 - Art Nouveau Style Design ✿

Image
H E L L O!     For the first week of midterms, we were assigned to do Nouveau arts. We could do jewelry, clothing, wallpaper, carpet and more. Here are my entries for this week. As usual, all I used is my computer, my VEIKK A50 graphics tablet and Paint Tool SAI version 2.      I did two versions, one wallpaper and one clothing. Here is an Nouveau art that I created for wallpaper. It can also be a painting styled Nouveau art. I entitled this " Gemini ".     Here is the second one I made, which I entitled " Bloom ". The main point is the clothing she wore, the pattern is inspired by the Nouveau designs I saw during the discussions.      As you can see, there is one common thing in these two drawings, which is the pattern I used on the background in Gemini and the pattern on the dress of the girl in Bloom. I looked for several inspirations online to take ideas from and then used them to form a medieval styled look to use. I really like the dress in Bloom since it is
